Following a successful career in international advertising management, James began a new journey that inspirited a natural talent in photography.

James’ images began as a photographic journal , but his natural talent soon caught the attention of the Royal Geographical Society in London. His first photographic exhibition soon followed at the prestigious London institution. From this initial body or work he gained commissions from the MCC at Lord's Cricket Ground and more recently O2. His work has been published and exhibited in the UK and the USA.

James provides photographic images that capture the details, patterns, and graphic form of the landscape before us in order to enrich our knowledge and views of the world around us.

what others say

The Times described James and his work as, “…a contemporary pioneer in landscape photography [who] has a strong graphic sense taking a genuine intuitive delight in the ambiguity of visual form [through his] startling evocative images [of] our most startling dreams."

His images cover landscapes of the Arctic showing “the winding patterns the wind has carved onto the ice and abstract ripples that look like cascading silk."
- Joanna Pitman, Photographic Critic, The Times

It is some of the most powerful and poetic landscape photography we have seen. Somehow they [the photographs] capture a really strong sense of nostalgia.

The compositions are simple, allowing the eye to rest on the rich textures present in nature. They tell the story of time passing - polished stone boulders, fields of wheat patterned by the wind, snow moulded into frozen ripples. These are perfectly distilled moments of simple beauty.

Some people are born with a gift to be able to capture an image that makes a shudder creep up your spine. A fantastic asset to the team as it is often through him that you get to see what its like for me.
